Here is a basic Dash Diet coleslaw recipe that you can add some of your favorite vegetable or if you want to add a kick to it add some red pepper flakes.

Dash Diet Coleslaw Ingredients

4 cups shredded green cabbage

2 cups shredded red cabbage

1 shredded carrot

2/3 cup lite mayonnaise

½ teaspoon crushed garlic

1 tablespoon red wine vinegar

1 tablespoon orange juice

2 tablespoons extra virgin olive oil

1 Lemon (juice)

½ teaspoon chia seeds

1 teaspoon of Red pepper flakes (optional)

Dash Diet Coleslaw Directions

Toss both types of cabbage and carrot in a large bowl.

In a separate bowl whisk together the remaining ingredients and pour this mixture over the cabbage/carrot mixture, toss and refrigerate for 30 minutes and enjoy.

Add some alternative vegetables to your Dash Diet Coleslaw like:

chopped parsley leaves

chopped mint leaves

freshly grated ginger root

Lime
