Turmeric Tea

Turmeric is a super food  so try and add to as many meals as possible, one place it is easy to add to is beverages.

Turmeric (Curcuma longa), is the bright yellow of the spice rainbow and is a powerful medicine that has long been used in the Chinese and Indian systems of medicine as an anti-inflammatory agent to treat a wide variety of conditions, including flatulence, jaundice, menstrual difficulties, bloody urine, hemorrhage, toothache, bruises, chest pain, and colic.

Turmeric has had many health studies done and it has anti inflammatory properties and is helpful for Rheumatoid Arthritis.  Turmeric’s combination of antioxidant and anti-inflammatory effects explains why many people with joint disease find relief when they use the spice regularly.

Here are two recipes that I use, the Turmeric Tea in the Summer time and the Creamy Turmeric Tea in the cooler evenings.
